Turning Shoes Into Water

Bring your old shoes to church! Henry Epling is collecting old shoes for a fellow Boy Scout who is working on his Eagle Scout award. The Scout is collecting old shoes and then donating them to Shoeman Water Projects, a non-profit organization based in St. Louis.
The Shoeman gives a second life to the shoes, selling them to exporters. The money from the sale of the shoes is used to purchase well drilling rigs, water purification systems, and other supplies to bring clean, fresh water to those in need.
Having collected over 450,000 pairs of shoes in the last two years, the non-profit Shoeman Water Projects has sent four water drilling rigs to Kenya with water filtration systems in the works for Haiti.
