Older & Wiser Lunch this Sunday

Everyone is welcome to lunch together this Sunday, June 23 at the Canyon Cafe at Plaza Frontenac following the Annual Meeting.  No RSVP is needed.  Join us!

GROW ONE SUNDAY RESULTS

As we wrap up the stewardship drive for fiscal year 2014 we are pleased to report that pledge cards have been received from 41 families or individuals.  Total pledged to date is $104,280.  Our thanks to all members and friends who are pledging your gifts to support the mission and ministry of Faith Des Peres in the coming year.  We expect to have a final report on this year’s drive within the next week or so.  If you have not returned your card to the church, please drop it in the mail this coming week or let one of us know when we might expect to receive it.  Thank you, each and every one, for all you do for Faith Des Peres.  — Barb Abbett & Kathy Sherrick, Grow One Sunday Co-chairs

Worship on Sunday, June 30

Special music will include soloist Lucy Conklin, who will perform Domine Deus from Gloria, RV589 by Antonio Vivaldi.  The Faith Des Peres Choir will also join us this morning with the gospel song Soon And Very Soon.  Lucy Conklin is Kathy Sherrick’s daughter.

Changes are underway in Education Wing

If you have been through Fellowship Hall or the classroom area on the lower level of the church you will have noticed that changes are underway.  Thirty-year tenant, Des Peres Montessori School, is packing up to move out of the building.  In early August, John Paul II Preparatory School will be setting up classrooms for its school session that begins in mid-August.  Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for students in K-12.  You can read more about the new school in the annual report to be distributed at our annual meeting on June 23 or talk to a member of the Finance Committee.  Welcome to our newest tenant and best wishes to the Montessori school team.

Note: The Montessori school is offering some of their furnishings and other items for sale at a Garage Sale on Wednesday, June 19 and Saturday, June 22.  The sale will be in the Fellowship Hall.
